“The Greatest Thing About Hairdressing Is Making People Feel Beautiful.”
Joseph Jew Style Director
I started my career at Nicky Clarke as an assistant in 2013. After 3 years of training i passed all my assessments and became a stylist! I was over the moon with my new qualification and couldn’t wait to get started.
Nicky Clarke provided me with so many opportunities such as appearing on TV promoting and selling NC electrical products, going on stage with the man himself assisting him in his product sales and going to london for LFW blogging events and doing hair for the NTA’s. On the side of all of this having an amazing clientele it was just the dream.
However in 2019 i decided i wanted an adventure. For the next 3 years i lived in New Zealand. I travelled the beautiful country and found my love for the outdoors. I was based in Wellington for 2 years doing hairdressing in the busy City business district. It was wonderful seeing all the different techniques and approach to hairdressing! After a few weeks of working at the salon I was asked to teach the assistants my way of hairdressing. I obviously said yes!
After all the restrictions of the covid pandemic were lifted I decided to come home. It’s so lovely being back in Birmingham and working at the salon my career sky rocketed!
My favourite things to do in the salon: big, bouncy blow drys, curly hair cuts and creative haircuts.
Jessica LangridgeArtistic Director
It's always been Jess’s ambition to grow to the best of her ability in the industry since starting as an apprentice at 16.
She has continued to work her way up for over 11 years.
From sweeping floors to shooting her work for top brands, Jess has reached a level where her experiences are such proud 'pinch me moments', such as styling for the NTA'S, staring in creative HEAD magazine and travelling to create her hair up looks around Europe.
With her welcoming and hospitable approach, Jess always wants to engage a good understanding of her clients likes and dislikes so she can create them a unique look that not only will transform their hair, it will match their style and lifestyle whatever that may be!
Jess believes it’s all about enhancing and working with the natural with both cut and colour.
She thinks your hair should not only look good when you walk out of the salon, but last until you return to her seat.
“To transform people's hair is such a good feeling; mostly to give each individual confidence and make them feel good is my main love for hairdressing!
