Nicky Clarke are the official Hairdressers for Sky Living’s ‘Styled To Rock’. The much-anticipated new fashion series executive produced by style-icon Rihanna in her debut role as a TV executive, today announces the raft of A-list music artists who will appear in the series alongside Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts, British designer Henry Holland and stylist Lysa Cooper.

Global sensations Katy Perry and The Scissor Sisters join British music stars Cheryl Cole, The Saturdays, Pixie Lott, Rizzle Kicks, Tinchy Stryder, Little Mix, Katy B, Little Boots and of course the show’s boss herself, Rihanna, who will all take centre stage in their respective episodes, while DJ and songwriter Calvin Harris has created and produced the title music for the show. Celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke and his creative team will create the overall looks for the designers to showcase their outfits each week.

The guest artist’s challenge is to set twelve unknown, raw and undiscovered designers their challenge – to create and design a bespoke and innovative stage outfit for them to wear at a variety of important occasions, including a multitude of live performances, shoots and high-profile events.  The guest artist will then choose their winning outfit in a tense showcase final that will prove whether the designers have adhered to the instructions they originally set. There’s no room for mistakes – these are very real briefs – no musical artist wants a fashion disaster on their hands in front of merciless photographers and harsh fashion critics.

The final challenge and ultimate task for the winner will be to design a unique stage outfit for Rihanna to wear at her biggest London live gig in 2012, and the enviable chance to dress one of the world’s most famous women for an event that will attract worldwide coverage. It’s high-stakes indeed as the biggest gig in fashion gets underway.

With the panel of mentors personally hand-picked by Rihanna herself, “Styled To Rock” will celebrate the extraordinary talent and creativity in the British fashion scene, and search for the next generation of Britain’s most promising fashion designers. Over ten weeks twelve unknown designers selected by executive-producer Rihanna, will be challenged by the mentors to create outfits for a string of A-list music artists to wear. The show will ultimately recognise the increasing influence popstars have on mainstream fashion trends and provide an enviable springboard for the aspiring designer’s future fashion career.

“Styled To Rock” has been made in association with Diet Coke. Sky customers will be able to enjoy the series exclusively on Sky Living HD this August 14th, 9pm. It will also be available on the move and on demand with Sky Go.
