Hair, Hair Tips & Advice By harrison
FIRST DATE HAIR
A simple rule: With ‘first date hair’, the most important thing to do is turn up with clean fresh hair! Make sure it smells great and appears freshly washed. This might mean investing in some good quality hair products but they will make a difference.
Natural healthy looking hair will make your date take notice. If it looks sensually touchable, soft and feminine, it will benefit your overall appearance.
There are many ways to create a suitable hair style for a first date however it will pay off to think ahead a little. Choose your outfit first and then use your hair as an accessory to complement your overall look.
Be comfortable: I often remind women that it’s important to feel comfortable as well as confident with their hair. Don’t try anything radical if you are unsure about it. A simple blow dry which shows off your healthy locks can be just as sensual as a striking new style.
Something Subtle: You could do something as straight forward as changing your parting from the centre to the side – a subtle change such as putting in a simple curl or some soft waves can often have a big impact on your overall look and anyone can do it at home. Another simple option is to put extra movement into the hair to create a more natural and sexy look.
Simple but sexy: Lets admit it, many ladies will want a more seductive look to get their date excited! Putting your hair up exposes your neck which immediately creates a more seductive feel. Hair-ups don’t have to be extravagant and only for people with good hair skills. A simple chignon or bun can be just as seductive. The key to finishing off a good up-do is to pull out some tendrils around the face as this will soften it up and make you (and your date) feel more relaxed with one another.
Another key technique in creating a sexy hair up is to create height at the crown. Doing so will give you the appearance of extra height, giving you extra prowess and charm to impress your date.
It’s also important to keep your eye on the current trends; take some inspiration from the looks coming off the catwalks and red carpet events. You don’t want anything too ostentatious and over the top. You want to impress but you still want to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Go glamorous: If you feel more comfortable with your hair down, go glamorous by sliding one half behind your ear and pin to the opposite side; then incorporate a quiff for detail – think Veronica Lake.
Don’t play with your hair: Once you are out on your date, remember not to play with you hair. Not only will this show your date that you are nervous, it will also make your hair greasy and ruin your look! My advice for the evening would be to take extra precautions… hair precautions of course. Put a small dry shampoo or hairspray in your bag and use it to keep your hair in place and to freshen it up throughout the evening. Also, if you have tried something a bit more elaborate, take some extra grips and pins with you just to be on the safe side.
