GET THE LOOK: Martine McCutcheon’s Wedding Hair

Senior Director and wedding expert Lee Radley gives us his inside knowledge on how he styled Martine McCutcheon’s beautiful wedding hair.

“For the wedding ceremony Martine’s new bobbed haircut, which was created by myself, was pulled up into a tight small ponytail just below the crown and then secured with a bungee cord. I then applied Nicky Clarke Hold and Shine Ultimate Hairspray over the hair to add gloss and hold in place and used a fine tail comb to make sure there were no flyaways, creating a slick, polished finish.
Next we took a ponytail hairpiece of the same colour, attached it with a bungee cord around the small tight ponytail and wrapped it around the hair to create a soft and small ballerina knot. Again this was all fixed into place using kirby grips and sprayed with Nicky Clarke Hold and Shine Ultimate Hairspray. Any loose hairs were also fixed and sprayed, then veil was attached just above the knot with a hair comb

For Martine’s evening look we removed the ponytail and let her hair down. Again I applied Nicky Clarke Hold and Shine Ultimate Hairspray and teased the hair into a volumous bob, reminiscent of Elizabeth Taylor; this is ‘old school’ glamour. When happy with the shape we then used hairspray one last time to fix the style and give a beautiful shine.”
