Mayfair was a hive of activity on Tuesday night with the 2011 Glamour Woman of the year awards hosted a stone’s throw from The Nicky Clarke salon in the beautiful Berkeley Square Gardens.  The paparazzi went crazy for Kristen Stewart and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley after attending The MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. They were joined by Fearne Cotton, Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe, Gemma Arterton, Rachael Stevens, Katherine Jenkins, Jessie J, Alexandra Burke and a host of British woman.

Our stylists were busy all day styling hair for the event. Later on we went down to the event and spoke to Nicky Clarke and International Creative Director Warren Holmes to have a chat about their thoughts on the Hair Styles of the night.

She looked really good. I liked her hair long but a change is good. Her hair is actually longer and more collarbone length but has jumped up with the tonging. Long to no layers on mid length hair are really nice at the moment – we’re seeing a lot of it in the salons right now – reason being it’s versatility allows for a chic variation of styles.’ says Nicky Clarke

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

‘Rosie is really becoming a serious force at these events. We recently saw her steal the show at the MTV Movie Awards and again here she is dazzling in Stella McCartney. Her hair still in the ‘Jessica Rabbit/Veronica Lake’ feeling but more pulled out and less dressy.’ says Warren Holmes

Jameela Jamil

‘Jameela is a regular at this kind of red carpet award ceremony; the fashion pack has certainly taken to her. Her hair is contemporary and we see it a lot on the streets of London. It is so easily achieved too. Plait your hair loosely at night, sleep in it and brush it out in the morning or allow to air dry, you will then get a very slight tight surface wave to the hair.’ says Nicky Clarke

‘I thought she looked great. She kind of doesn’t need to do too much to her hair, the effortless feel she has going on is its charm. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had blow dried the hairline and left the rest to be natural.’ says Nicky Clarke.

Paloma Faith

‘She actually does her own hair, I know that for a fact. Paloma draws inspiration from the 40’s and 50’s incorporating Rockabilly rolls into her hair a bit like the Moschino campaign I worked on a couple of years ago. Here she wears an interesting head piece with the hair neatly pinned in at the back.’ says Warren Holmes.

Rachael Stevens

‘I like it. The balance at the front profile is great; the movement on the ends interests me too. The look actually isn’t that volumised. It has good movement on the ends achieved by using a large tong. The fringe is nice, it has a more commercial feel to it but it really works for her.’ says Nicky Clarke
