Salon International 2011

Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th and Monday 17th October 2011

Forty Five thousand hairdressers from the four corners of the globe attended the world’s most inspirational hairdressing exhibition at ExCeL, London, this weekend. Regarded by many as the biggest show in hairdressing, Salon International is a hub of creativity, motivation, education and the latest product launches.

This year, The Nicky Clarke Team, opened the show on the HJ stage and presented to capacity audiences across all three days, with around 3000 people coming to watch his live shows.

We said: “The concept of my show was what I call the 3 ‘SSS’s’ SalonShootShow and how to bridge the gap between the three.  Taking something you would do on a show and making it relevant to the salon; something from a shoot and watering it down for a show and so on. It’s basically about intertwining each S with the other S and making it relevant. It’s important to know what techniques and concepts are the most suitable to the work you are doing however it’s also important to keep your ideas fresh and innovative. Whether I’m working in the salon, on a shoot or backstage on a fashion show, I always draw inspiration from all aspects of my work – it’s a great way to invent new techniques and styles. I wanted to tell the story through hair but keep it visually strong for the audience. I had one model that represented each ‘S’ which allowed me to demonstrate bringing all these elements together.

With the hair media attending from all over the world, Warren also spent most of the weekend speaking to the International press and meeting with hairdressers from across the UK. Warren said: “Salon International is the biggest industry event attending by lots of passionate hairdressers. Thank you to the Hairdresser’s Journal.

With over 200 exhibitors, The Hair Show highlighted everything that is great about British hairdressing with the best creative names in the industry inspiring the audiences.
