When The Nicky Clarke Team launched our very first hair tutorial movies – an innovation in the hair industry – our aim was to educate and inspire people at home to try out the latest trends as they come straight off the fashion catwalks from around the world. In less than 12 months, Nicky’s hair tutorial movies have been viewed by thousands and now they have even hit the big screen!
Being showcased on a 200ft outside screen, the movie tutorials are now stopping over 500,000 passers by as they wander through Manchester City centre on a daily basis. We commented ‘Having our movies on the big screen is great but the most satisfying thing about it is seeing people stop and watch our movies; some people are sitting and watching for over an hour!’
The concept behind Nicky Clarke hair tutorial movies it to take the season’s biggest looks on the runway and transform them into three – four minute tutorials for the woman at home. Last season saw us style hair for catwalk shows including Fendi, Bottegga Veneta, Alexander Wang and Chloe, all of which we recreated when landing back in London. Nicky’s latest movies include a recreation of Freida Pinto’s recently worn A-symmetric low party do and Penelope Cruz’s bouncy retro hair.
Nicky’s movie tutorials are regularly requested by beauty editors, award winning bloggers and international press. Our tutorial movies have been exclusively picked up by The Daily Telegraph, which have just smashed records with over 29.6 millions hits.
Fashion Director of The Daily Telegraph and friend, Hilary Alexander commented: “Nicky Clarke is a hairdresser who makes you feel completely relaxed and happy ; you always leave with a great style AND a smile.. He has an easy rapport with his clients and an intuitive understanding of the best cuts and styles to suit both their features and their personalities. He has cut and styled my hair for nearly two years, and i have also worked regularly with him on Ask Hilary reader makeovers.”
