Last week, our Nicky Clarke Manchester salon took part in Manchester Fashion week. Our stylists Zeb, Kendal, Roisin and Megan all helped to create looks for the Brookes Brothers, All Saints, Ted Baker, Mulberry and Flannels catwalk shows.
Zeb gave us his run down of all the shows below:
Brooks Brothers – Here the show consisted of 6 men and 2 women. The style was all American preppy, young professional, quite classic and natural.
All Saints – The hair for All Saints was very natural and young, to off-set the edgier clothing. This show also had men and women and the hair was very smooth and straight with only a bit of movement.
Ted Baker – We went for a more 50s retro-styling with a back combed bun, pulled back quite tight with body to really show off the detailing of the necklines and the intricate patterning of the fabric.
Mulberry– Very big hair, messy, late fifties/early sixties glam housewife, emulating their s/s LFW show
Flannels– Here we went for a classic, on-trend low smooth ponytail, very minimalist and chic.
“Backstage was bustling! The stylists were very busy right from the get go and it was a great experience. The whole team had to stay in close contact with the producers and the designers of each show to ensure that all the looks were spot on every time.
The fashion scene in Manchester is really coming on leaps and bounds and we had to make sure that the hair for each of the shows matched that level. Have a look at some of the backstage photos. We cant wait to come back next year and make it even bigger and better!”
