Emmys 2012

Our eyes glanced to Hollywood for the evening as it stole the attention away from Milan Fashion week for a few hours. Television stars celebrated the Emmy Awards 2012 and we spoke to Nicky Clarke to get his take on what went on on the red carpet

January Jones channelled what will be a distinct trend for SS13 with her red carpet adoption of Zac Posen’s Black Sculptural gown, hair was flat, sleek, exposing the ears with a strict clean low side parting. I’m really fond of Claire Danes’ yellow  pre spring summer 2012 Lanvin gown, her blonde tussled waves accompanied it very beautifully.

The hair as a whole was a lot more relaxed and more fun than what we would usually find ourselves seeing at the Oscars and Bafta’s. Nicole Kidman definitely paid close attention to what was going on over in Europe on the runways with her centre parted flat hair conveniently falling behind the ears, she chose an Antonio Berardi number from his SS13 collection. There wasn’t anything to done and structured in a big way from any of the leading names, Julianne Moore was again a perfect example of this with her naturally parted hair falling from a centre parting.

Heidi Klum opted for the obligatory wavy decadent movement that had a beautifully romantic 70’s vibe to it. Hayden Panettiiere’s hair couldn’t have been more perfect for the silhouette of her Marchesa asymmetric gown from the SS13 collection. There was a lot of detailing around the neck and you wouldn’t want to draw attention away from this. The high top knot slightly elongated the shape of her, pulling her hair all off her face was another subtle way of cleaning up the whole neck face area so that nothing could be drawn from the gown.’
