Emmy Awards 2011

The 63rd annual Emmy Awards took place on Sunday night squeezed in between NY and London Fashion weeks, giving us the chance to see some Autumn Winter 2011 looks on the red carpet.

Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Emilio Pucci, stepped out with her obligatory straight hair and centre parting that we’ve become so familiar with. Red seemed to be the colour of choice with Lea Michele and Kerry Washington both joining Kate Winslet taking on the vibrant colour. Kate’s hair was a dirty blonde that worked really well in contradicting the neat French twist at the back. The look was all about the movement at the front and that little wave achieved by tonging and setting, then combing out. Nicky Clarke Hold and Shine Ultimate Hairspray is perfect for this, adding the required amount of hold with lots of beautiful shine’ Says Nicky Clarke

Heidi Klum sported the increasingly popular wet texture look, incorporating it into an updo. Evan Rachel Wood wearing Elie Saab worked a marcel wave with lots of product, a distinct nod to the sleek reflection trend we saw a couple of seasons ago and on the runway at Prada Spring Summer 2011’. I was particularly fond of the top knot Katie Holmes dropped, it was a nod to the 1960’S Drama trend we’re going to see come through this season. The distressed texture can be achieved by using the new Nicky Clarke Tease Me, which is backcombing in a bottle! Also check out this video tutorial of mine where I show you how to achieve the top knot seen on Katie in only a few minutes.
